Do you enjoy spending your summer days exploring the outdoors and wonder how to portray what you see through art? In this outdoor-based camp, we'll examine how accurately we can depict the environment or subject in front of us and whether accuracy is always the goal. We'll learn to understand and apply perspective from life to paper, how to add depth with light and shadow, utilize cross-hatching, create interesting compositions, and use a variety of drawing and sketching materials (pencil, pen, charcoal). You will generate a small portfolio of work, including practice sketches and larger completed works based on your natural environment.
