Explore outline, shadow, shape, and silhouette in this innovative sculpture class! Students will investigate and discuss the artwork of contemporary Silhouette Artists such as Camille Utterback and Kristi Malakoff, explore one of the earliest forms of animated storytelling, as well as discover the rich and varied traditions of Chinese Shadow plays. Throughout this course, students will develop their own stories, puppets, and sculptural scenery to be shown in an exclusive premiere at the end of class!
