We are thrilled to announce that The Current has been named a Spring 2026 Multi-Year Program Support Grant Recipient by The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts.

Where does a performance end and a sculpture begin?

Installed as part of Exposed 2026, Miles Greenberg's Orpheus I emerges from glitched 3D scans of performers in motion.

Named after the mythological figure who could not resist looking back, the sculpture explores memory, longing, transformation, and the traces left behind by the body.

Originally staged as a seven-hour live performance, TЯUTH transforms endurance, combat, and choreography into an immersive installation experience.

Bodies painted in black oil engage in improvised duels, creating a work that feels at once ritualistic, cinematic, and deeply human.

What happens when you're placed inside a performance rather than in front of it?

"LE MIROIR" surrounds visitors with six synchronized video channels arranged in a circle, transforming the viewer from observer into participant.

Inspired by Andrey Tarkovsky's 1975 film "The Mirror," "LE MIROIR" is a surreal queer love story inspired by the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice, shot between the live performance in Marrakech at El Badii Palace and the Emirati Desert on the border of Oman. The resulting work is Greenberg's most ambitious video piece to date.

Presented at The Current for the first time in the United States.

In addition to sculptural objects, we encourage broad and innovative approaches to sculpture, including but not limited to site-specific installations, interventions, and participatory or exchange-based works.

Currently Speaking: Our Personal Nature, featuring Brian Collier, interdisciplinary artist and Professor of Fine Arts at Saint Michael's College who was ARCA's artist-in-residence in Fontecchio, Italy in October 2025, a collaboration with The Current.

Brian creates site-specific research-based projects that explore plants' and animals' coexistence in human-made environments. Collier will be talking about the project he conceived and directed as an artist in residence for ARCA: Art-Regenerations-Community-Living, in the Abruzzo Region of Italy. He was sponsored by The Current for this residency.

A powerful week at The Current.

On Tuesday, interdisciplinary artist Mary Mattingly joined art historian Dr. Julie Reiss for a conversation about art, climate change, and the evolving role of artists in responding to ecological crisis.

Throughout the week, Mary also led cyanotype workshops with 2nd–4th grade students from Stowe Elementary School, where students experimented with composition, pattern, and sunlight to create their own prints, and asked thoughtful questions about her artistic process.

And tonight, our winter series concludes with a student poetry reading featuring 7th and 8th grade students from Stowe Middle School. Inspired by Water Writes the Garden, their poems explore climate change, interconnected life systems, and water as storyteller and timekeeper.
